The Morning After

Happy Sunday morning, Seattle!

Last night was a bit chilly, I think I left the window open a little too wide. But the bed was cozy so I made up for it by sleeping in a bit. Last night a new friend Heather was VERY excited to be out at 2am and mistakenly read that the object of the Schlage Key To Strong Challenge was to break the front door down. Don’t worry, it only took a few bangs on the door before my security guard friend Don and I explained the rules to the game and we got the issue cleared up right away. We all shared a laugh about it (at least I think she was laughing…). The door has not been broken down and I am still locked in and Heather is still locked out. Thanks for visiting, Heather!

This morning it occurred to me that I’ve been a little caught up in all the hustle and bustle and haven’t been able to do much cleaning or organizing. This place is a mess and I’m certainly not gonna be able to get anyone in here to clean it for me. Time to do some housework today….

Stay tuned! Today’s first clue will be posted soon!!

Steak grease, lots of leftover spinach, and kitchen utensils. Plus a living room full of laundry!

A LUSHious evening

After a phenomenal steak dinner, I took a hot/cold/hot/cold/hot/cold (the temperatures had zero conflict resolution skills) shower and slipped into my pajamas. The experience, though temperamentally volatile, was made exhilarating by a gift bag I received from Lush, located about 30 feet away from me. The soap, which was blue and cool shaped, smelled great and felt wonderful, and the shampoo, though rich dark purple and meant for blonde or grey hair, did the trick and made my <1 cm length hair feel energized and rejuvenated. This morning and tonight I also tried their “Toothy Tabs” which were interesting and explosive, but did the trick in a really surprising and breath-refreshing way. Thanks Lush for all the cool stuff!

Saturday: Clue #1

In case you couldn’t make it by my house today I thought I’d be helpful and post the first clue on the blog so you could get started.

Here it is:

Don’t let its Central American name fool you; your first destination has been part of Seattle’s Japanese community since 1910. This International District café has strong teas on its menu—and a glass window in its floor. Look for the sign you can see through that window, and enter the sign’s first two letters at keytostrong.com/check/window.

Good luck and call with any questions, I’m here to help- 206-462-3339.

fridge

Schlage asked me what I wanted to put in the fridge for a week. So i sent them the following list, not really knowing what I would be doing. I’ve been trying to eat healthier lately, but I don’t really know how to cook very well so I figured I’d ask for a bunch and then wing it. The whether is nice tonight and I’m in the mood for something fancy. Anyways, here’s the list of what I have. If anyone has any suggestions of something to cook with these ingredients, let me know! Or better yet, bring me some ingredients.

  • diet coke – at 4 cans a day, I’d say a 24 pack should do. i may combust or slowly decompose if its caffeine free.
  • 3 or 5 avocados – I don’t don’t where these little devils were for 21 years, but I just discovered them and I can’t stop. please don’t judge.
  • maybe like a dozen eggs? – protein’s good for mental health, right?
  • a block of cheddar – to feel like home
  • (maybe some random moldy vegetables for the veggie drawer? too much? ya, probably too much, never mind)
  • a couple bells peppers
  • one really fancy steak that I can google how to cook and burn the house down
  • a bottle of red wine
  • 1 pack of Parmesan Goldfish
  • 1 box of wheat thins
  • some cream cheese for the wheat thins
  • frozen pizza? one with some meat and veggies on it?
  • Coors Light – um, ya.
  • some fat free milk
  • a can of alfredo sauce, maybe?
  • a block of solid gold
  • some fettuccine?
  • I would love a few chicken breasts
  • a box of chocolate cake mix – i just read on Pinterest that you can cook it using only the cake mix and diet coke. super excited to try it :)
  • a box of Special K (strawberries or none, your choice)
  • a few bananas
  • a pack of baby carrots
Anyways, I think I’m gonna cook the steak tonight……after some research…….

A little bit of booty….

I ate nearly this entire bag for lunch. I need to start cooking but I’m lazy and scared. Has anyone found the key yet? I may need it if I light this place on fire….

I need to make the plunge into the fridge. More to come soon.

A Note About Twitter

On multiple occasions, I’m going to ask you to tweet something (either a word or a picture) along with a specific hashtag. To make sure I get your answer, you must address the tweet to me (@lockedinhouse) and include whatever hashtag I ask for.

For example, let’s say I gave you the following clue:

This 605-foot Seattle icon was built for Seattle’s 1962 World’s Fair. Take a picture of it and tweet it to me with its name as a hashtag.

The answer, of course, is the Space Needle. So to move on, you’d need to take a picture of the Space Needle (get yourself in the frame if possible), and then send that photo in a tweet worded something like this:

@LockedinaHouse Here’s my #keytostrong pic of the #spaceneedle!

Also, to keep from giving anything away, I will respond to your tweets with Direct Messages. But I won’t respond to DMs from you.

Got it? Good. (And if not, trust me, you’ll figure it out.)

Stay strong.
